What is StreetPrint?

StreetPrint is a proprietary decorative paving system that uses specially designed imprinted asphalt products to create decoratively stamped asphalt driveways. The stamped asphalt driveways are colored and fortified with a polymer cement surfacing system called StreetBond.. The result is a decorative paving system that replicates the appearance of hand-laid brick, cobblestone or slate. StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveways can be installed when a driveway is being newly constructed or if asphalt driveway resurfacing is required.

Where can I get it?

StreetPrint imprinted asphalt products are used to create beautiful stamped asphalt driveways by a growing network of Driveway Impressions franchise operations. Your local Driveway Impressions operator is a highly trained, skilled professional, determined to provide his or her customers with a quality decorative stamped asphalt driveway.

How much does it cost?

The cost to install a StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveway varies depending upon whether asphalt driveway resurfacing is required, the size of the project, the amount of decorative pavement incorporated into the driveway, and the StreetPrint pattern and trim package chosen. In North America StreetPrint provides the best value when compared to other decorative pavement systems. While StreetPrint is considerably more than plain asphalt resurfacing on a square foot basis, it is substantially less than the cost of hand laid brick or stamped concrete.

How long does it last?

StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveways utilize StreetBond Surfacing Products which are designed to wear with the grace and realism common to concrete brick pavers over many years. The cement component of StreetBond, combined with the color pigments, provides for a realistic brick-like appearance. The surface is fade resistant and helps to repel harmful UV rays. As with all decorative paving systems there will be some wear over time.

What must also be kept in mind, and is usually forgotten, is that the wear associated with StreetBond Surfacing products is cosmetic. With other forms of decorative pavement the failure tends to be structural in nature, requiring a more expensive and disruptive repair. The StreetPrint application can be made to look like new by simply re-applying a fresh coat of StreetBond Surfacing Products. It should also be noted, at time of sale, that the cost of reapplying the StreetBond Surfacing Products would be significantly less than the cost of the initial application. At this time the color can also be changed, an option not available with other decorative paving systems.

Why use StreetPrint as an alternative to stamped concrete or brick pavers?

StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveways can be installed very quickly with relatively little disruption, so they are usually much less costly and disruptive than decorative pavement alternatives. StreetPrint uses asphalt as its base. Asphalt is a flexible surface that is more likely to accept shifting due to weather extremes and can resist cracking commonly associated with other paving systems. Vehicle braking/accelerating and steering will not shift or break StreetPrint, as often happens with brick pavers. If a StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveway was damaged, it is very easy to patch, virtually invisibly.

Can it be done over my existing driveway, or do I need to replace my driveway?

Provided your existing asphalt surface is in good condition (i.e. free of cracks, sealcoat build-up), the StreetPrint process can be applied without the need for asphalt driveway resurfacing. If not, a new 1½" – 2" asphalt pavement will need to be applied over the existing pavement. If your existing driveway is concrete, it will have to be removed and replaced with new asphalt prior to the application of the StreetPrint process.

Can I have it installed on my driveway, walkway, or patio?

Driveway Impressions can install StreetPrint imprinted asphalt wherever an asphalt pavement can be properly installed to perform to acceptable standards. Typically, this excludes patios and pool surrounds. However, please contact your local Driveway Impressions to explore your question further.

What about weeds?

StreetPrint decorative asphalt pavement is a continuous surface and its protective surfacing system does not support organic materials, so the weed growth seen with hand laid products is not a problem on a stamped asphalt driveway.

Is a Driveway Impressions driveway guaranteed?

The StreetBond Surfacing System utilized on a StreetPrint stamped asphalt driveway is guaranteed against manufacturer's defects. Specific warranties, guarantees or promises are provided by the Driveway Impressions operator. It is Driveway Impressions’ goal to ensure that all Driveway Impressions customers are completely satisfied with their new decorative driveway.

What is the StreetBond Surfacing System?

StreetBond is the surfacing system used on Driveway Impressions stamped asphalt driveways to color and fortify the asphalt surface. When cured, StreetBond is an Interpenetrating Network (IPN) which means that, like composite materials or alloys, it is able to produce properties that significantly exceed those of a single component system. StreetBond combines polymer and cement technologies to achieve an exceptional combination of durability, curing characteristics, performance properties and natural appearance.

Is it environmentally friendly?

A Driveway Impressions decorative asphalt driveway is constructed with two components - asphalt and the StreetBond surfacing system. Asphalt is 100% recyclable and StreetBond is a water based environmentally friendly material.

Will the surface color fade?

The StreetBond surfacing system utilizes pigments that are specifically designed to be fade resistant. As with all decorative paving systems there will be some gradual fade over time. However, unlike other decorative paving systems, the color of your decorative asphalt pavement can be rejuvenated or changed if and when you would like, at a fraction of the initial installation cost.

Is it slippery?

A StreetPrint decorative asphalt surface is not slippery.

How does it hold up in winter?

The pattern on a Driveway Impressions decorative asphalt pavement speeds drying of the surface which makes ice formation less likely. The StreetBond surfacing system is unaffected by salt and therefore will not spawl as with concrete products. The StreetPrint decorative asphalt is a monolithic surface with no trip points, therefore potential damage created by snowplows is rare. This contrasts with hand laid bricks that can be installed at an uneven height or can shift through freeze/thaw or water penetration, creating a plow hazard and a trip point safety hazard.

What maintenance is required?

A Driveway Impressions driveway is very low maintenance. The decorative asphalt pavement surface can be easily cleaned as required. The proprietary StreetBond Surfacing System is unaffected by de-icing salts and the continuous pavement substrate will not support vegetation growth. If at some point, years down the road from the original installation date, the homeowner would like to have their driveway surface renewed, a fresh coat of StreetBond can be inexpensively applied.

Can I clean it? With what?

The StreetPrint decorative asphalt pavement should be periodically flushed with water to remove any abrasive materials (ie. sand/dirt). Use a low pressure, high volume rinse. Excessive abrasive materials on the surface can decrease the life of the surfacing system. StreetPrint is resistant to oil, grease and gas, however, it is advisable to remove any from the surface of the pavement as soon as possible. Use ZEP Citrus Cleaner, scrub the area with a stiff broom or brush, and follow with a high volume, low-pressure rinse.
